Confessions of a Bikini Pro

Oct 29, 2021

Today, I speak with IFBB Pro and fellow Team Edge teammate Carlie Lane, who has a passion for fitness and decided to compete as a bucket list item back in 2016 and 2017. She won her pro card this year at Masters Nationals, her first national show, after taking nearly four years off from the sport. Carlie shares how she found herself inspired to try competing after a break up, although being the center of attention was something out of her comfort zone. She shares how she ultimately decided to work with Joe Discullo of Team Edge after some experience self coaching and dealing with post show struggles and rebounds.

Carlie shares tips on habit stacking and how she feels that one should embody the lifestyle and habits of a competitor before diving into a competition prep for the first time. She discusses setbacks that led her to take a break from competing and how she took care of her emotional health, an aspect of her life she realized she needed to prioritize and improve. Carlie emphasizes the difficulty yet importance of taking ownership of her actions and thoughts to make positive change.

Carlie talks about her experiences working with Team Edge and she learned that there can be a way to compete and prep without running her health into the ground. She shares what she has learned from her coach, Joe, with not only training but how macros and meal plans can be applied in different season of her journey.

Listen to hear Carlie’s amazing journey of self discovery, reflection, and resilience, and to see what lessons she shares from her experiences along her journey!
